Short Training Courses

Raising the standards and competency of medical technologists working in the laboratory is in line with the Faculty’s determination to train well-rounded scholars whom are capable of understanding and have access to the latest in science and technology for solving problems that they may encounter at the workplace. Her Royal Highness Maha Chakri Sirindhorn is very much aware of the lack of basic medical infrastructures in Laos People's Democratic Republic, the Faculty of Medical Technology, Mahidol University is deeply grateful for the Royal Patronage and continuing support of Her Royal Highness in the success of technology transfer and training projects for the purpose of raising the standards of clinical laboratories in Laos ever since 2002 up to this very day.

Short Training Programs

In 2008, the Faculty of Medical Technology has organized the following short course training programs with local and international participants:

  • Excursion to academic institutions to provide advice on the setting up of academic curriculum.

  • International training courses to students from:

                Bhutan (5 students)

                      - Diploma Course in Clinical Cytology
                      - Diploma Course in Diagnostic Radiography
                      - Diploma Course in Sexually Transmitted Infections and 
                         HIV/AIDS Laboratory Diagnosis and Quality Assurance

                Laos (5 students)

                      - Diploma Course in Medical Laboratory Diagnosis Program

                Korea (2 students)

                      - Diploma Course in Current Technology in Clinical Laboratory

  • Training courses to local students as follows: 

                3rd Training course on the diagnosis of worms and protozoas in the intestine 
                   (55 participants)
